News Update#7 (15MAY07): Going north

Hello,
After my return to Islamabad and stocking up my supplies it is time to escape into the cooler mountains. I will leave the city tomorrow going north towards Chitral and Gilgit. Since internet facilities are absent or very slow there I won’t be back online before July. Meanwhile you can enjoy my updated pictures from India and Pakistan II.

PS: in case Pakistan news from last days shootings, bombings and manifestations in Karachi, Peshawar and Islamabad made it to your news channel: I’m fine and alive, the dodgy camping ground I stay on is probably the safest place in town…

Hallo,
habe mir gerade genüßlich Deine Bilder Pakistan I und II ‘reingezogen … schade, dass ich so jung war, als meine Eltern aus Pakistan weg sind (und ich mich dadurch an so wenig erinnern kann).
die Erinnerungen wieder auffrischen - jedenfalls Danke für die Bilder.
Aber zu was hat man denn seine Leute
In Gilgit waren meine Eltern damals (sie waren von 1955 - 1965 in Pakistan) auch - meine Mutter hat ‘ne ganze Schachtel mit alten SW-Fotos.
So, werde wieder vorbeisehen hier …

hi torsten,
war sehr interessant gestern im geoconsult office in dir. wir hoffen, das essen war im rahmen deiner vorstellungen (sorry, dass es kein chicken gab) und die kleinen biester haben dich nicht zu sehr aufgefressen. naja tabletten/cremes/sonne helfen.
wünschen dir alles gute heute zum lowari-top (3116) und natürlich auch für deinen weiten weg nach down under. gruess uns die kangaroos :-))

Ich recherchiere zur Zeit wegen deiner Lohnsteuerkarte.
Simone von HA konnt sich jetzt nicht so direkt daran erinnern,daher habe ich auch Rebecca von HR angeschrieben. Ich bleibe da dran, versprochen.
